What to expect in our therapy sessions

For both individuals and couples seeking healing and growth

  • Getting to Know You:
    Our first one or two sessions will focus on getting a sense of your background and what’s bringing you into therapy. This is our time to begin building a foundation for our work together.


  • Clarifying Your Goals (Even If You're Not Sure Yet):
    We’ll talk about what you hope to get out of therapy and how we’ll know when you’re making progress. If you’re unsure of your goals right now, that’s completely okay and we can explore that together.


  • Unstructured, Intentional Conversations:
    I don’t follow a rigid structure in sessions. That’s because I want to leave room for things to come up organically, in real time. I’ve found that some of the most important insights emerge when we allow space for them.


  • No Agenda - Unless It’s Needed:
    I don’t come into your sessions with a set agenda unless there’s something urgent or time sensitive to follow up on. Otherwise, we’ll let your needs and experiences guide the direction of our work.


  • Homework But Only If It Helps You:
    Some clients find homework useful; others don’t. If it’s not your thing, that’s absolutely fine; therapy shouldn’t feel like another task you’re failing at. We’ll decide together if assignments are a good fit for you.


  • Plenty of Space to Talk (With Supportive Questions):
    I tend to ask thoughtful questions throughout our sessions, but I also give you plenty of space to talk. I’ll step in when it feels helpful or clarifying.


  • Collaborative and Responsive:
    Therapy is a partnership. If something isn’t working, or is, I welcome your feedback. My goal is to tailor our work so you get the most out of each session.


  • We’ll Move at Your Pace:
    Most importantly, we’ll go at a pace that feels right for you. Once we’ve built a solid foundation of trust and safety in our work together, I may gently encourage you to explore deeper areas but always in a way that feels supportive, not overwhelming. My goal is to help you grow without pushing you beyond what feels manageable.


  • Flexible, Client-Centered Therapy, Without Time Limits: Therapy is a personal journey that unfolds at your own pace. I do not impose session limits or cut you off after a set number of visits if you're not ready. Instead, I believe in providing the time and space you need to explore, heal, and grow fully. Whether your process takes weeks, months, or longer, I don't want you to feel rushed or pressured to “finish” therapy prematurely. My goal is to support you continuously until you feel ready to move forward confidently.
